Natural stone is a timeless material shaped by nature over millions of years, carrying a unique character in every single piece. Türkiye, one of the world’s richest countries in terms of marble diversity, is home to some of the most powerful sources of this exceptional material, with more than 80 different structural types and over 120 color and pattern options. From architectural structures to interior spaces, from furniture to decorative objects, natural stone offers a vast field of expression in today’s design world one that is waiting to be rediscovered.

Today, natural stone is widely used in both interior and exterior spaces as an indispensable component of modern architecture and contemporary design. However, a closer look at the sector reveals that a large portion of Türkiye’s approximately 2 billion USD natural stone exports consists of raw or only minimally processed products. Yet, every step where natural stone meets design and transforms into high–value, original products holds the potential to further strengthen the sector’s position on the international stage.

At the heart of this transformation lie the creative perspectives of young designers. Viewing the material not merely as a building element but as a medium of narrative and expression, the new generation of designers gives natural stone a new language. It is precisely at this point that the 8th International Different Natural Stone Design Competition, organized this year, invites young and talented designers into the inspiring world of natural stone. While aiming to make original ideas, innovative approaches, and creative designs visible, the competition also seeks to offer a new perspective for the future of the sector.
