Marble İzmir Sculpture Workshop
Marble Turns into Art at Marble İzmir
As the countdown continues for the Marble İzmir – 31st International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, production has begun at one of the fair’s key events: the Sculpture Workshop. Within the scope of the workshop, six sculptors will continue producing their works at Fuar İzmir until April 8, 2026. The sculptures will be exhibited in Hall D throughout the fair, and following the event, they will be relocated to various points across İzmir to be permanently displayed in public spaces.
Organized by İZFAŞ under the auspices of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the Sculpture Workshop aims to extend the impact of marble beyond the fairground and into the urban environment. Initiated with the vision of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, the workshop brings together sculptors who have begun shaping marble blocks through a live production model. The production process will be open to visitors, offering art enthusiasts the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformation of natural stone into works of art.
Curated by sculptor Ekin Erman, the Sculpture Workshop features distinguished artists from various cities across Türkiye: Bahadır Hızol, Çağdaş Erçelik, Dilşad Akçayöz, Orhan Gazi Keskin, Özkan Arslan, and Tonguç Sercan, all of whom continue to create their works on marble blocks.
