The First Natural Stone Arrives at Marble İzmir

Preparations for installation have begun at Marble İzmir – International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, the world’s largest natural stone fair, which will be held at fuarizmir from April 17-20, 2024. As the first block stones were brought to the exhibition area, companies also started setting up their stands. The first natural stone brought to fuarizmir for the 29th Marble İzmir was beige marble, internationally known as Claudia Cream, extracted from a quarry in Elmalı, Antalya.

Organized by İZFAŞ under the auspices of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Marble İzmir will continue to contribute to the sector for the 29th time this year, serving as the gateway for Turkish natural stone to the world. Known for its high participation from exhibitors and visitors, both local and international, the installation process at Marble İzmir has officially begun. Türkiye, home to some of the world's most significant natural stone reserves for thousands of years, will showcase block stones transported from quarries across the country at fuarizmir. On the first day of operations, nearly 80 natural stones were unloaded into the exhibition area with cranes. The first stone to arrive was the Claudia Cream beige marble, renowned for its natural aesthetics and adaptability to both indoor and outdoor applications, making it one of the most preferred marble types.

Türkiye: A Global Leader in Natural Stone

Holding approximately 35% of the world’s natural stone reserves, Türkiye is also known for its wide variety of natural stones. The country has over 80 different types of natural stones and more than 120 variations in color and pattern. Some of the most recognized natural stones in international markets will be exhibited at Marble İzmir. The placement of raw blocks, weighing between 20 and 30 tons, will continue until April 16, 2024. Colorful and diverse block stones transported by trucks and trailers will be displayed throughout the fair, with over 1,500 block stones expected to be showcased during the event.

The Fair Unites the Industry

Sponsored by Cemar Traverten & Mermer, Marble İzmir 2024 will bring together all key players of the industry from Türkiye and around the world for four days. Alongside natural stones from Türkiye’s most significant quarries, the fair will also showcase state-of-the-art machinery and equipment used in the stone industry. The exhibition layout is as follows:

Outdoor area – Block stones and construction machinery
Halls A & B – Natural stone exhibits
Hall C – Natural stones and machinery
Hall D – Consumables and accessories

With over 1,000 exhibitors, the fair is expected to welcome nearly 100,000 local and international visitors.
