The heart of natural stone will beat in İzmir: preparations for Marble have begun.

Preparations have begun for the Marble İzmir – International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, which will be held at Fuar İzmir between April 14–17, 2026. As the countdown continues for Marble İzmir, which will open its doors for the 31st time this year, the first natural stone blocks and machines have taken their place at the venue, while products coming from all across Türkiye are getting ready to meet the world.

Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ, Marble İzmir is once again preparing to be one of the most important meeting points of the sector. With the start of installation works, the first block stones have been unloaded into the outdoor exhibition area, while stand setups have also begun in the halls.

Dozens of natural stones unloaded with heavy machinery

For Marble İzmir, which showcases Türkiye’s strength as one of the world’s most important natural stone reserve regions for thousands of years, block stones extracted from quarries across the country are being transported to Fuar İzmir. On the first day of operations, dozens of natural stone blocks were unloaded into the exhibition area using heavy machinery. The first stones brought to the fair were Burdur Beige from the Burdur quarry of Afyon Alimoğlu company and Monte Bianco marble blocks from the Muğla quarry of Başaranlar Mermer.

Meeting with professional buyers

Türkiye, which holds approximately 35% of the world’s natural stone reserves, also stands out with its diversity. The country has more than 80 different types and over 120 colors and patterns of natural stone reserves. Many internationally recognized natural stone varieties will meet professional buyers from around the world at Marble İzmir. The placement of raw blocks, weighing between 20 and 30 tons, will continue until the fair opens on April 14. Blocks transported from different regions of Türkiye, with various colors and characteristics, will be exhibited to visitors throughout the fair. Nearly a thousand block stones are planned to be brought to the area before the fair.

Installation has also begun in the halls where natural stone products and machinery will be exhibited. The first machine placed in Hall C, which is dedicated to machinery and technology companies, is a domestically produced 12-ton block cutting machine by Demmak Makine.

Opening doors to new collaborations

Within the scope of Marble İzmir, block stones and heavy machinery will be exhibited in the outdoor area, while natural stone companies will be located in Halls A and B. Machinery and technologies will be showcased in Hall C. This year, Hall D will host design-focused events under the “D-ESIGN Arena” concept, including talks with experts and architects, works from the Sculpture Workshop, and projects created by young designers as part of the 8th International Natural Stone Design Competition.

Bringing together Türkiye’s natural stone richness and production power with international buyers, Marble İzmir will gather all stakeholders of the sector for four days, paving the way for new collaborations.
